On 17th March 2026, ARFH joined Stop TB Partnership Nigeria and other key stakeholders at the Pre-World TB Day Press Conference held at the KNCV Nigeria Conference Hall, Abuja.
Dr. Queen Ogbuji-Ladipo, Board Chair of Stop TB Partnership Nigeria and Director of Programs (GF TB/HIV Project) at ARFH, delivered the welcome remarks, highlighting the importance of government leadership and community-driven action in ending tuberculosis.
Key takeaways from the event:
- World TB Day 2026 Theme:“Yes! We Can End TB” – Led by the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, Powered by the Communities.
- TB remains a leading infectious disease killer, with Nigeria among the countries most affected.
- Progress has been achieved through partnerships across government, civil society, healthcare workers, researchers, and the media, improving TB detection, treatment access, and community engagement.
- Domestic financing is critical to sustaining TB programs as donor support evolves.
- The media plays a pivotal role in raising awareness, shaping public policy, and mobilizing action.
Dr. Ogbuji-Ladipo emphasized:
“When governments lead with strong policies and adequate financing, and communities are empowered to take ownership of the response, ending TB becomes not just a vision, but an achievable reality. Together, Yes! We Can End TB.”
As we approach World TB Day 2026 on 24th March, ARFH continues to support communities, strengthen partnerships, and advocate for accessible TB prevention, diagnosis, and treatment services for all Nigerians.
Join us in the fight against TB! Together, Yes! We Can End TB.
