Professor Oladapo Ladipo, President/CEO of the Association for Reproductive and Family Health (ARFH) has said that Nigeria has to moderate population growth to ensure that government and families will have more resources to ensure good quality of life.
He stated this while chairing a panel discussion on development sector issues hosted by Pact Nigeria, in Abuja on 20th February 2017. At the event, issues related to infrastructure, governance, population, health, education and food security were discussed by government officials, leading international and indigenous organisations in the development sector, towards finding a solution to the myriad of problems in the development sector.
The development sector leaders present unanimously agreed that, for the country to achieve development, moderating its population growth is priority so that demographic dividends can effectively ensure good quality of life with the available resources.
Professor Ladipo said: “if you look at every modafinil 200mg sector, because of a variety of reasons such as governance, economic recession and limited resources coming from oil, we have not made much progress.”
He also reiterated that mono-economy is far from the ideal, Nigeria’s economy needs to be diversified so that as progress is made, the country should invest in human resources and skilled human capital to meet the needs of the public and the private sector for development. “We have to moderate the population growth in order to take advantage of demographic review so that government and families will have more resources to ensure good quality of life, invest better in education, health, agriculture and environment.”
He also stated that: “We have to moderate population growth, also, to ensure that every Nigerian citizen has an opportunity for quality education, has access to quality healthcare and has access to food. If the government of Nigeria can do this, then, the future will be brighter.”
