ARFH, with support from UNESCO, successfully conducted a one-day sensitization session for health workers in Ifelodun and Odo Otin LGAs of Osun State to strengthen adolescent and youth-friendly health services with school and community linkage.
The session emphasized the critical role of health workers in creating safe, respectful, confidential, and non-judgmental spaces for adolescents to access healthcare services.
Key discussions focused on:
• Building youth-friendly Primary Health Care services
• Strengthening school-health referral linkages
• Addressing stigma and barriers preventing adolescents from accessing care
• Promoting privacy, confidentiality, and respectful care
• Supporting health outreach activities in schools and clubs
Participants were also encouraged to collaborate closely with schools within their LGAs to provide health education during assemblies and club activities.
Through the UNESCO supported O3 Project, ARFH remains committed to improving adolescent health, strengthening Family Life and HIV Education (FLHE), and creating safer, healthier environments for young people to thrive.
