From Kano to Yobe, Gombe, Niger, Nasarawa, Lagos, and Plateau States, ARFH joined government, partners, and communities to commemorate World Contraception Day under the Community-Oriented DMPA-SC Self-Injection Acceleration in Nigeria (CODSAiN) Project.

ARFH Commemorates World Contraception Day 2025
Theme: “A Choice for All – Agency, Intention and Access”

Across LGAs and communities, the day was marked with state-led flag-off ceremonies, road walks, advocacy visits, community sensitization, demand-generation activities, and service delivery outreaches. These events reinforced ARFH’s commitment to advancing reproductive health and well-being for women, men, and young people through integrated RMNCAH services.

Stakeholders in attendance included the Executive Secretaries of State Primary Health Care Boards and Agencies, Directors, Family Planning Coordinators, service providers, religious and community leaders, husbands, women, beneficiaries, media houses, and community-based organizations such as YEDA, RAWYOD, FAHCI, and GCDA. Even traditional dancers lent their voices, creating a vibrant community atmosphere that celebrated choice, access, and health for all.

By commemorating this day, ARFH reaffirmed its mission to reduce maternal and infant mortality through safe childbirth spacing, demand generation, and accessible family planning services. Together with government and community partners, we continue to ensure that contraception is recognized not only as a health intervention but also as a pathway to empowerment, stronger families, and healthier communities.
