USAID ICHSSA-2 End of Project Final Report, Fact Sheet and Success Stories

Message from ICHSSA-2 COP: Dr. Felix Iwuala

The success of the ICHSSA-2 project (2019–2024) was made possible through the unwavering dedication, expertise, and collaboration of numerous individuals and institutions who worked tirelessly to achieve its vision. This project was more than
just an initiative—it was a movement driven by a shared commitment to safeguarding the well-being of orphans and vulnerable children, ensuring access to essential health and social services, and strengthening systems that support them.

We extend our deepest gratitude to the USAID Team, through our AOR-Doreen Magaji, for their topnotch technical assistance, strategic direction, and continuous support, which culminated in the successes recorded on ICHSSA 2 project. Their confidence in our work enabled us to design and implement sustainable solutions, respond to emerging challenges, and ultimately improved the lives of thousands of children and families.

Many thanks to the Lagos, Edo, and Kwara State Governments, for providing the enabling environment and valued support for the project to thrive. We salute the leadership of our line Ministries-Ministry of Youth and Social Development (MYSD) Lagos, Ministry of Social Development and Gender Issues (MSDGI) Benin and Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development (MWASD) Ilorin, including the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs (FMWA) Abuja, for promoting ownership and sustainability.

Special appreciation goes to our implementing consortium led by ARFH, and supported by Project HOPE, and FHI360, for their
leadership, technical expertise, and unwavering commitment to achieving program objectives. Their contributions, spanning health services integration, community-based interventions, and system strengthening, played a critical role in driving sustainable
impact.

We recognize the tireless efforts of the technical teams, whose dedication to service delivery, program innovation, and evidencebased
interventions ensured that the ICHSSA-2 project met and often exceeded expectations. Their work in HIV prevention and care, child protection, household economic strengthening, and psychosocial support helped build stronger, more resilient communities.

Immense appreciation to the indefatigable ICHSSA-2 Project staff and Program Monitors, who worked tirelessly in communities, overcoming obstacles, adapting to evolving needs, and maintaining the highest standards of service delivery. Their passion, determination to succeed and team spirit, were the key attributes, that propelled the ICHSSA 2 Project to greater heights.

We recognize contributions of the Finance and Operations team, who worked concertedly to ensure frugal management of funds and compliance with standards.. To the Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) team, we extend our sincere thanks for their meticulous data collection, analysis, and reporting, which provided evidence based sources for decision-making and continuous program improvement. Their commitment to measuring impact ensured that our interventions were both effective and scalable.

We also acknowledge the dedication of our Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) and local implementing partners, whose work at the grassroots level translated our strategies into real, lifechanging actions. Their unwavering commitment to service delivery, case management, and beneficiary support ensured that children and families received the care and protection they needed.

Above all, we honour the children, families, and communities that we served. Their resilience, courage, and willingness to engage
with the program inspired us every step of the way. Their stories of transformation stand as the true legacy of this initiative. To our Implementing Partners, stakeholders, and individuals who contributed to ICHSSA-2’s success, we say thank you. Your collective efforts have not only changed lives but have also strengthened the systems that will continue to support vulnerable children for years to come.
