As we celebrate World Population Day on July 11, 2024, in Nigeria, it is imperative to reflect on the country’s population dynamics and their implications for human capital development, particularly in the areas of education, health, and other social services.
These critical issues were at the forefront of discussions at the symposium organized by the development Research and Projects Centre (dRPC) on Friday, July 12, 2024. The event brought together esteemed speakers, including Dr. Salma Ibrahim Anas, Special Adviser to the President on Health, Dr. Ejike Oji, FP CSO Focal Person, Prof. Professor Okechukwu Ikpeze, President of SOGON, MWAN National President Prof. Rosemary Ogu, Prof. Oladapo Ladipo, President Emeritus of ARFH Nigeria, Dr. Kehinde Osinowo, ARFH CEO, Prof. Eyitope Ogunbodede, and many other representatives of civil society organizations.
A heartfelt thank you to dRPC, the Population Association of Nigeria, the Society of Gynaecology and Obstetrics of Nigeria (SOGON), the Association of Reproductive and Family Health (ARFH), the Federal Ministry of Health, and all our partners for their invaluable contributions.
Together, we can drive positive change and ensure a brighter future for all Nigerians.
