Today is World Mosquito Day, a commemoration of the discovery that malaria is caused by the female anopheles mosquito. The discovery was made in 1897 by a British doctor, Sir Ronald Ross.
As the world marks this day, ARFH Malaria Team, a partner of the Roll Back Malaria program reflects on the progress Nigeria is making in the fight against malaria – a preventable and curable disease that significantly contributes to the high infant and maternal mortality rates in the country.
