Today, December 1st, we come together with the purpose to observe World AIDS Day, a day for reflection, solidarity, and action. This year’s theme, “Take the Rights Path: My Health, My Right!”, underscores the importance of ensuring equitable access to health services and addressing the barriers that prevent us from ending AIDS by 2030.
At ARFH, we reaffirm our commitment to empowering communities with rights-based healthcare. Together, we can:
✅ Address stigma and discrimination.
✅ Champion access to youth-friendly, inclusive HIV services.
✅ Foster innovations to bridge gaps in care through digital platforms and community-driven solutions.
Our focus aligns with the ‘95-95-95’ goals: ensuring that 95% of people with HIV are diagnosed, 95% of those diagnosed receive sustained treatment, and 95% of those on treatment achieve viral suppression. Achieving this requires collaboration among governments, international organizations, donors and partners, healthcare providers, civil society, and most importantly, those most affected.
Prevention Tips to Stay Safe:
Practice safe sex by using condoms consistently and correctly.
Get tested regularly and encourage your partners to do the same.
Consider pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) if you are at high risk.
Educate yourself and others about HIV transmission and prevention.
Avoid sharing needles or other drug-injection equipment.
Access care and support if you are living with HIV to prevent further transmission.
As we reflect on the 39.9 million people living with HIV worldwide, we renew our call for equity and compassion. Let’s amplify the voices of those affected and ensure no one is left behind.
Together, let’s create a world free of AIDS.
