‘Scaling Up Gender-Sensitive HIV/AIDS Interventions for Vulnerable Children in Nigeria’ is a documentary highlighting the successes of the Child Protection Committees and the School and Block Granting Schemes of the ARFH/Global Fund Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVC) project in influencing and mobilizing care and support for OVC infected and affected by HIV.
The documentary explores the importance and role of the Community Volunteers and their impact in reducing the burden of HIV on Orphans and Vulnerable Children in their communities through educational, nutritional and health support. It also showcases the level of state ownership and participation in community based interventions.
This documentary was filmed in Akwa Ibom and Abuja Nigeria in 2015 and produced by Association for Reproductive and Family Health (ARFH), an indigenous Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) in Nigeria with the mission to initiate, implement and promote, in partnership with Government and other organisations, sustainable sexual, reproductive, family and public health information and services for adults and youths.
