Strengthening School-Based Health Education through FLHE in Ayedaade LGA

As part of the ongoing implementation of the state-led O3 Initiative (Our Rights, Our Lives, Our Future) supported by UNESCO, ARFH conducted a two-day capacity-building training at St. Patrick Grammar School, Gbongan, Ayedaade LGA, on 29th-30th January 2026.

The training focused on strengthening teachers’ capacity to effectively deliver Family Life and HIV Education (FLHE), equipping them with the knowledge and skills needed to provide accurate, age-appropriate, and rights-based health information to learners. Participants also engaged in practical sessions on creating safer, inclusive, and youth-friendly school environments that support adolescents’ well-being.

This engagement contributes to the broader Phase Two rollout of the O3 Initiative across Osun State, aimed at improving adolescent health outcomes, strengthening school-health linkages, and fostering supportive systems involving parents, communities, and health facilities.

Through sustained school-based interventions like this, ARFH continues to support the state in empowering young people with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to make informed decisions and build healthier futures.
