Theme: Self-Care for All – Empowering Individuals, Families, and Communities for Universal Health Coverage
Self-care is about empowering people to take control of their health in safe, simple, and accessible ways close to home and on their own terms.
To mark International Self-Care Day, ARFH joins the global call to recognize self-care as a vital part of health systems. Through the Gates Foundation-supported CODSAiN Project, we’re supporting women and girls with innovative self-care options such as DMPA-SC self-injection for family planning.
Our efforts also align with Nigeria’s broader health reforms under the Sector-Wide Approach (SWAp) and the National Health Sector Renewal Investment Initiative (NHSRII)- working to embed self-care in routine health services, ensuring equitable access to the right care, at the right time, in the right place.
Watch our short documentaries to see how self-care is transforming lives in communities across Nigeria through the CODSAiN Project.
