We are pleased to announce that our RASuDiN Program Manager, Dr Hameed Adediran was one of the winners recognized by the 120Under40 award in 2019. The award which recognizes 40 of the most accomplished young people working in family planning and sexual and reproductive health and rights worldwide was announced on Friday, September 2019.
120 Under 40: The New Generation of Family Planning Leaders recognizes and highlights the achievements of the next generation of family planning leaders worldwide and is led by the Bill & Melinda Gates Institute for Population and Reproductive Health at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, with support from Bayer.
The project which was launched on World Contraception Day 2015 shines a light on the “positive disruptions” made by young leaders in family planning, enabling others to model their behaviors and build on their success. The project’s international profile increases awareness of family planning as critical to young people’s health and wellbeing and essential to sustainable global development. 120 Under 40 supports World Contraception Day, an annual event organized by Bayer that draws attention to contraception, especially young people’s need to access contraceptive and reproductive health information, services and supplies.
RASuDiN – Resilient & Accelerated Scale-up of DMPA-SC/Self injection in Nigeria project aims to increase use, acceptance, availability, and accessibility of DMPA-SC, expanding the family planning method mix for women of reproductive age in Nigeria. The project is led by Association for Reproductive and Family Health (ARFH) in partnership with the Centre for Communication and Social Impact and coordinated overall by the Federal Ministry of Health. Dr Hameed Adediran was recognized for his role as the Program Manager of RASuDiN project which supports the national advocacy and capacity building for the rollout of DMPA-SC among family Planning method mix in Nigeria.
