#ARFHinTheNews: Nigeria Needs to Moderate Population Growth to Achieve Development – Prof Ladipo

Professor Ladipo President CEO ARFHProfessor Oladapo Ladipo, President/CEO, Association for Reproductive and Family Health (ARFH), stated that moderating population growth is the way forward to achieving sustainable development.
He made the assertion at the Fourth Nigeria Family Planning Conference in 2016.
Professor Ladipo called on all tiers of government to promote initiatives that give prominence to the exploration of the resources of the nation’s population for the country’s prosperity.
He said: “We have a population policy that currently encourages four children per couple. I think that policy needs to be revisited by government and we all sit down together to do what is rational.”
Professor Ladipo canvassed for couples to adopt family planning to enable them birth only the number of children they can cater for and raise families that will become assets to Nigeria.
