ARFH actively participated in the planning and celebration of the World TB Day 2024 in the Federal Capital Territory. To mark the day, ARFH alongside other stakeholders embarked on a road walk aimed at raising awareness on TB. This event was held on the 25th of March, 2024 at the Garki Ultra-Modern Market and highlights ARFH’s commitment to ending TB in Nigeria.
The hallmark of the World TB Day celebration was the investiture of the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Senator Oluremi Tinubu as the “Global and National Stop TB Champion” and the event held at the State House Conference Hall, Aso Villa, Abuja on the 28th of March, 2024. Dr Queen Ogbuji, Board Chair of Stop TB Partnership Nigeria delivered the opening remarks. She highlighted the need for increased advocacy, awareness and actions to eliminate tuberculosis in Nigeria where the TB burden is quite high.
The Honorable Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate was key at the event and acknowledged Senator Oluremi Tinubu’s dedication to leading the TB campaign alongside her Renewed Hope Agenda Initiative.
The GC7 Integrated TB/HIV Implementation period is from January 2024 to December 2026. The objective of the grant is to efficiently scale up and integrate gender-sensitive facility and community TB and HIV services towards epidemic control while strengthening resilient and sustainable systems for the provision of quality health services.
ARFH is implementing the grant in Ekiti, Kogi, Kwara, Nasarawa and Rivers states and the FCT.
