ARFH CEO, Dr. (Mrs.) Kehinde Osinowo in company of the ICHSSA-2 Project Management Team presented health books to adolescents in Edo State. The event occurred at the ICHSSA-2 Adolescent and Youth Friendly Centre (AYFC), Faith Mediplex Hospital, Benin.
While recognizing the bourgeoning population of young people in Nigeria, Dr. Osinowo noted that ARFH will continue to prioritize the health and wellbeing of adolescents in Nigeria and beyond. She highlighted the robust health interventions carried out by ARFH in the past specifically in ensuring adolescents have access to accurate and safe information on sexual and reproductive health and rights. She admonished the adolescents to use the books to enhance their knowledge about understanding their body and menstrual period.
The ICHSSA-2 Chief of Party, Dr. Felix Iwuala urged the adolescents not to engage in risky behaviours that will jeopardize their health and future.
Dr. Nosa Igei, ART Coordinator at Faith Mediplex Hospital ackwnowledged the kind gesture of ARFH towards improving the knowledge of the adolescents about their body.
While receiving the books, the adolescents thanked USAID and ARFH for not forgetting them. The two books- My Period and Teens Blueprint were made available with the support of USAID.
