Advocacy Visit to NACA: Strengthening Collaboration for HIV&AIDS Control

On April 5th, 2024, ARFH’s leadership team, led by President Emeritus Prof. Oladapo Ladipo and CEO Dr. Kehinde Osinowo, alongside Dr. Kolapo Oyeniyi, Director of Programs, paid an advocacy visit to Dr. Temitope Ilori, the new Director General of the National Agency for the Control of AIDS (NACA).

Prof. Oladapo congratulated Dr. Ilori on her appointment and stressed the importance of continuous health education on HIV/AIDS control to sustain the gains achieved in the prevalence of HIV in the country. He also pointed out that the PMTCT thematic area needs more critical attention so that the country will gain much traction along the thematic area. Dr. Osinowo, ARFH CEO, in her remarks, commended the collaboration between ARFH and NACA, highlighting ARFH’s impactful contributions to HIV&AIDS interventions across Nigeria.

Dr. Temitope Ilori while responding, expressed her gratitude to ARFH’s leadership and acknowledged ARFH’s positive impact on Nigeria’s healthcare sector. The newly appointed DG also decorated Professor Oladapo Ladipo (ARFH’s President Emeritus) and Dr. Kehinde Osinowo, with the NACA emblem.

In attendance were also Directors and other officials from NACA which included Dr. Chinwendu Daniel Ndukwe, Director of Policy, Planning, and Coordination; Dr. Yinka Falola-Anoemuah, Director of Performance Management & Resource Mobilization; Dr. JAMES ANENIH, Director of Community Prevention and Care Services; Mrs. Esther IkomiKudumi Huck, Director of Special Duties; Dr. Oluwaseun Oshagbami, Special Technical Adviser to the DG. Samson Odukogbe, Communications Officer for ARFH, covered the event.
