VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT – MATRON

Job Description

  • To aid in the management and provision of a confidential counselling and health advice service.
  • To provide emergency medical care, as required
  • To demonstrate expert skills in first aid and medical care and offering advice to colleagues on safe practice.
  • To identify, prioritise and implement programmes of care that meets the public health needs.
  • To develop and implement up to date regular health promotion initiatives on specific health issues and to specific groups and individuals in line with client needs.
  • To prepare and implement individual care plans where appropriate, in conjunction with the clients.
  • To assist in the provision of advice, management and care to clients.
  • Maintain and record accurate documentation and correspondence in line with compliance regulations and guidance.
  • To provide familiarisation sessions for staff as appropriate e.g. organise regular training for staff, keeping records.
  • To administer and store medication correctly, checking expiry dates.
  • To be responsible for the maintenance of all assets within the clinic.
  • To support review of relevant policies.
  • To follow good practice and specific directives on immunisation procedures relevant to the clients if required.
  • To carry out any other duties, as may be assigned.

Specific Responsibilities

Required Experience

  • Ability to prepare correspondence and reports utilizing Microsoft software and/or e-mail.
  • Ability to create tables and simple displays of information into spreadsheet software.
  • Ability to enter and manage data into a centralized electronic medical records.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Completion of a bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Registered Nurse/Nurse Midwife, Midwifery or higher in the field with relevance to health care. Candidates with relevant work experience or advanced education in public health, health administration, or another relevant field will be considered with preference.
  • Experience in training and developing the skills of others.
