Job Description

Association for Reproductive and Family Health (ARFH) is one of the leading Nigerian Non-Governmental Organizations implementing programs for improving Reproductive Health and Family planning (RH/FP), Care and Treatment of HIV/AIDS, Tuberculosis (TB) and Malaria etc. We seek applications from qualified persons for position of State Program Manager in an ongoing USAID funded OVC Project: Integrated Child Health and Social Services Award (ICHSSA 2 Project) in Lagos State. The candidate will be based in Lagos State and report to the Director of Programs under the overall leadership of the Chief of Party. The State Program Manager will coordinate the activities of the CBOs being supported by ICHSSA 2 Project across all the LGAs where the project is being implemented. S/He will ensure that all the project activities are in line with the Child Safeguarding policy of ARFH and best practices established by PEPFAR/USAID and GoN. S/He will assist in strengthening technical capacity of CBOs to provide age-appropriate services for OVC and their caregivers in Lagos State. S/He will serve as focal point on gender issues on ICHSSA Project.The candidate will be required to give 100% LOE on the project.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Responsible for direct management and coordination of project activities in line with the workplan.
  • Provide support to stakeholders at State, LGAs and CBOs to develop state and CBO specific work plan to address identified OVC needs in line with the USAID objectives
  • Strengthen technical capacity of CBOs, LGAs and State in Programming for OVC.
  • Support CBOs to make timely retirements and recommend fund disbursement to CBOs.
  • Provide supportive supervision, mentoring and coaching for CBOs staff and case managers.
  • Ensure Adherence to all donor requirements in program, activities and reports
  • Review Project implementation plans with a gender lens to make sure they are gender sensitive
  • Develop strategic approach for the implementation of gender interventions on the Project
  • Work with staff and CBOs to ensure that gender considerations are fully integrated into the program design and activities including monitoring and evaluation
  • Monitor progress towards target; identify and implement approaches to overcome challenges.
  • Write quality Project Performance Reports to provide progress update to the project leadership.
  • Participate in project review meetings, project monitoring, reporting and documentation
  • Coordinate the documentation of success stories across all the CBOs
  • Any other duty that may be assigned by the ICHSSA 2 Project.

Required Experience

A degree in Science/Social sciences or related discipline with over 7years of cognate experience in Programing for OVC, is required

Minimum Qualifications

  • A degree in Science/Social sciences or related discipline with over 7years of cognate experience in Programing for OVC, is required.
  • Familiarity with Nigerian public sector health systems and NGOs and CBOs is highly desirable
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and timely achievement of targets, are desirable attributes of the position.
  • An MPH will be an added advantage.
