PROGRAM MONITOR – DATA ANALYSIS

Job Description

Background

The Integrated Child Health and Social Services Award (ICHSSA) Project currently being implemented in Eleven (11) LGAs in Lagos State by consortium partners led by ARFH in partnership with FHI-360 and Project HOPE with funding from USAID and in collaboration with the Lagos state government through the Ministry of Youth and Social Development.  The project is focused on providing HIV-gender sensitive comprehensive health and social services to OVC, through partnership with CBOs, who supervise and monitor an array of Case Managers at the facility and community. While significant progress has been made on all the components of the intervention with some indicators performing at over 90% after two years of intervention, the project has not been able to publish results from the intervention in any scientific reputable journal due.

 

Justification

Currently, both programmes and SI units are so engrossed with project implementation and coordination to the extent that spending quality time with further data analysis and writing of publishable manuscript becomes very challenging. Engaging a data analyst would facilitate the possibility of translating data to publications. It therefore becomes necessary to engage a Programme Monitor for data analysis to take up this responsibility under the guidance of the DSI. The Programme Monitor for Data Analysis would be dedicated to supporting the development of manuscript through a detailed literature review as guided by the DSI and the DOP.

Specific Responsibilities

The below shall be the job description of the Programme Monitor (Data Analysis):

  • Assist in coordinating research activities on the project, which would include development of research topics, protocols, literature review, data collection, data entry, data analysis and reporting
  • Support the implementation of the learning agenda on the project under the supervisor of the DSI
  • With support and guidance from Strategic Information and Programme units is responsible for publication of at least 4 articles in recognized peer review journals annually.
  • Develop protocols for Research/ publications to be submitted to Ethics Review Committee of Lagos and Edo States and or any other body as required
  • Present the protocols for review and necessary approvals from the management
  • Participate in data collection activities when event demands

Perform all other responsibilities as assigned by the PMT

 

Expected Date of Engagement

The Programme Monitor for Data Analysis is expected to resume work from 15th March, 2022. S/he will first be engaged for the first six months after which her performance will be reviewed base on publications of minimum of 4 manuscript in a peer reviewed journal annually. Satisfactory performance will provide additional justification for full engagement

 

Line of Reporting

The Programme Monitor for data analysis will report directly to the Director of Strategic Information

Key Working Relationship: Director of Programme, State Programme Manager and the entire project Team

Required Experience

The ideal candidate is expected to have 3 years relevant experience in data analysis, research and publications with at least 2 publications in reputable journals.

Minimum Qualifications

Preferable BSc in Statistics , MSc in Biostatistics or related courses.
