The President/CEO of the Association for Reproductive and Family Health (ARFH), Professor Oladapo Ladipo, chaired the June 2016 monthly journalists’ roundtable discussion organized by Mamaye Nigeria.
In his remarks, he stated that the media has a pivotal role to play to improve the health literacy of the public in Nigeria which is currently at a low level.
He reiterated that: “The media has a major role to play to ensure that health is considered a priority area for funding. Health is wealth. A healthy nation is a wealthy nation.”
The June 2016 journalists’ roundtable discussion focused on analysis of Maternal and Neonatal Health allocations in the 2016 Federal Health Budget of Nigeria as well as a review, discussion and presentation of the 2015 Federal Health Budget Scorecard.
