As the world celebrates International Women’s Day, ARFH remain committed to the empowerment of women in Nigeria. Recognizing the great role women are playing in promoting sustainable national development, ARFH join the international community to celebrate women who are leading change in their respective industries. The Int’l Women’s Day is a time to reflect on progress made on the empowerment of women and to celebrate acts of courage and determination by ordinary women who have played an extraordinary role in the history of their communities. According to the United Nations, this year’s theme, ‘Equality for women is progress for all’ emphasizes how gender equality, empowerment of women, women’s full enjoyment of human rights and the eradication of poverty are essential to economic and social development. It also stresses the vital role of women as agents of change and development.
As we celebrate the 106th Annual International Women’s Day this Saturday, March 8th, we have an opportunity to applaud some of these staggering accomplishments, successes, and triumphs—all a testament to the incredible progress women are making right now. We also congratulate all women working for a healthier future in Nigeria.
