On March 24, 2026, ARFH joined the Federal Ministry of Health & Social Welfare and key national partners at the Ministerial Press Briefing to commemorate World TB Day 2026 under the theme:
“Yes! We Can End TB – Led by the Federal Ministry of Health, Powered by Communities.”
The event marked a major step forward in Nigeria’s fight against TB and HIV, including:
The national launch of the Multisectoral Accountability Framework for TB (MAF-TB)
The introduction of Lenacapavir (Len PrEP), a long-acting HIV prevention innovation
These milestones reflect Nigeria’s commitment to innovation, accountability, and integrated health responses.
In her goodwill message, Dr. Queen Ogbuji-Ladipo, Board Chair, Stop TB Partnership Nigeria and Director of Programs (GF TB/HIV Project) at ARFH, emphasized:
“Let us move beyond promises to decisive action. Let us translate commitments into measurable results… Together, led by government and powered by communities, we can end TB.”
Beyond the national event, ARFH extended the commemoration across Ekiti, FCT, Kogi, Kwara, Nasarawa, and Rivers States through:
Community outreaches and integrated TB/HIV screening
Radio engagements to amplify awareness
Roadshows and advocacy for increased political commitment
The message remains clear: Ending TB is possible when communities are empowered and systems are strengthened.
As we reflect on progress and challenges, we reaffirm:
Strong leadership matters
Community action is essential
Sustainable investment is critical
Together, we can end TB. Yes! We Can End TB.
