Earlier today, ARFH staff and other stakeholders participated in a walk from AP Plaza to Bannex Plaza in Wuse, Abuja, to commemorate World Tuberculosis Day and raise awareness about this deadly but preventable disease.
Participants took to the streets to sensitize residents about TB, how it spreads, and most importantly, how it can be tested and treated – free of charge.
Many people were unaware that TB still poses a serious threat in communities, especially for those showing persistent symptoms such as:
- Coughing for over two weeks
- Fever and night sweats
ARFH in collaboration with other partners emphasized that screening, testing, and treatment are completely free, and early detection saves lives.
The walk, which started early in the morning, ran until around noon, bringing communities together to learn, engage, and take action against TB.
