Nigeria faces a growing adolescent health crisis marked by rising rates of teenage pregnancy, unplanned pregnancies, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), HIV infections among young people, sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV), and limited access to youth-friendly SRH services. Recent national data indicate that approximately 15% of adolescent girls aged 15-19 have begun childbearing, while many adolescents continue to face limited access to accurate sexual and reproductive health (SRH) information, safe spaces, and supportive community structures. These challenges disproportionately affect adolescents in underserved and hard-to-reach communities.

For more than three decades, the Association for Reproductive and Family Health (ARFH) has worked to address these critical issues and improve the health and well-being of adolescents and young people (AYPs) across Nigeria. The ARFH Youth Rescue Club has been instrumental in delivering targeted interventions through school-based outreach, community mobilization, FLHE training, peer mentorship, and youth engagement programs.

To scale and expand these interventions nationally, ARFH is launching a major fundraising campaign aimed at mobilizing USD 1,000,000 to support adolescent health promotion across all six geopolitical zones. Leveraging modern digital and AI-driven technologies will strengthen adolescent SRHR engagement, expand safe spaces, and increase visibility for ARFH’s youth-focused work.
