March 8 marks International Women’s Day, a time to celebrate the strength, resilience, and impact of women worldwide. Under this year’s theme, “For ALL Women and Girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment.”, we reaffirm our commitment to advancing gender equality, amplifying women’s voices, and ensuring that no one is left behind.
At ARFH, a woman-led organization, we recognize that real progress happens when women and girls are empowered to lead, thrive, and shape their futures. With 46% of our workforce comprising women, we proudly stand as champions of inclusive leadership, equity, and meaningful participation.
Our Impact for Women and Girls
Family Planning & Maternal Health
Through the Community-Oriented DMPA-SC Self-Injection Acceleration in Nigeria (CODSAiN) Project, supported by the Gates Foundation, ARFH is expanding access to self-injectable contraceptives and other family planning methods, ensuring that women—especially in underserved communities across eight Nigerian states—have the autonomy to make informed decisions about their reproductive health. Additionally, we support maternal health initiatives that improve access to quality prenatal and postnatal care, reducing maternal mortality and ensuring safer childbirth.
Ending Gender-Based Violence (GBV)
Under the UNESCO-supported O3 Project, we are increasing awareness of GBV prevention and reporting in schools and communities. By equipping young people, parents, and community leaders with knowledge and fostering safe spaces, we ensure survivors receive the support and justice they deserve.
Health, Education & Economic Empowerment
Our initiatives promote family life and HIV education, menstrual health, and economic empowerment, ensuring that girls stay in school, access essential healthcare, and break barriers to reaching their full potential.
For ALL Women and Girls: A Future of Possibilities
Together, we can build a future where all women and girls have the rights, power, and opportunities to fulfill their potential.
