Strengthening Family Planning Services in Plateau State

On February 7, 2025, ARFH’s CEO, Dr. Kehinde Osinowo, led a high-level advocacy visit to the Plateau State Primary Health Care Board and the State Ministry of Health to strengthen partnerships and push for sustainable family planning investments.

During the visit, Dr. Osinowo emphasized the impact of the Community-Oriented DMPA-SC Self-Injection Acceleration in Nigeria (CODSAiN) project, which has:
✅ Trained healthcare workers & community service providers across all 17 LGAs
✅ Increased modern contraceptive prevalence from 21.7% to 26%

She also called for state funding for FP commodities to ensure sustainability. The Executive Secretary, Dr. Raymond Juryit, and the new Commissioner for Health, Dr. Nicholas Baamlong, reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening reproductive health services and improving maternal health outcomes.

Together, we’re driving accessible and sustainable family planning in Plateau State and Nigeria as a whole.
