On this special day, we at ARFH reflect on how education is a powerful tool to empower young minds and preserve human agency in a rapidly evolving technological world. Through the Our Rights, Our Lives, Our Future (O3) project, supported by UNESCO, we continue to champion transformative education that equips adolescents and communities with the knowledge and life skills they need for the future.
In Collaboration with the State Ministry of Education (MoE) and the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), We’ve:
- Strengthened the capacity of 1,122 teachers from 176 schools (110% of the target of 160 schools) across Osun State to deliver accurate Family Life and HIV Education (FLHE).
- Reached 140,282 learners, achieving 118% of our target of 119,000, with Education for Health and Wellbeing (EHW) and life skills.
- Engaged 2,361 community and religious members, exceeding our target of 2,000 by 18%, and trained them to deliver culturally and religiously sensitive health education. We also reached 1,854 PTA members, achieving 154.5% of the target of 1,200, empowering them to promote Education for Health and Wellbeing (EHW) and life skills within their communities.
Empowering Stakeholders:
- Mobilized and trained 80 community and religious leaders to disseminate culturally and religiously sensitive health education to adolescents, youths, and parents.
Why It Matters:
Education must remain a human-centred endeavour in the age of AI and automation. The O3 project emphasises building critical thinking, resilience, and social awareness among learners, ensuring they are academically and holistically prepared for the future.
Join Us:
Join us in celebrating education as a cornerstone of progress and a driver of innovation that prioritizes humanity. Together, we can amplify the voices of youth, strengthen community engagement, and ensure education remains the key to a better future.
