ARFH President, Prof O.A. Ladipo Bags Special Recognition Award

The President of ARFH, Prof. O.A. Ladipo has bagged an award for his immense contribution to TB program in Nigeria. The award was bestowed on Prof O.A. Ladipo and Association for Reproductive and Family Health (ARFH) by the National Tuberculosis, Leprosy & Buruli Ulcer control program(NTBLCP) and presented by the Honourable Commissioner for Health Kano State, Dr Aminu Ibrahim Tsanyawa on Wednesday, December 1st 2021.

Prof Ladipo was represented by the TB Coordinator, Dr Queen Ogbuji at the Annual Review meeting of the National Tuberculosis and Leprosy Control Program (NTBLCP) with all the 36 State TB Program Managers plus FCT and IPs such as USAID, WHO, APIN, KNCV, SHOP PLUS, IHVN.

In his address, Dr Chukwuma Anyaike, National Coordinator NTBLCP commented that this award is not only for the TB program but also for indelible marks Prof Ladipo has made on Nigeria Health System.

ARFH has been collaborating and supporting the National Tuberculosis and Leprosy Control Program (NTBLCP) since 2019 to date in the fight against Tuberculosis in Nigeria alongside other partners. ARFH supported NTBLCP 2009-2018 as the Principal Recipient of the Global Fund for the TB grant in Nigeria in the areas of establishing DOTS Clinics and AFB Laboratory across the 36 states, plus FCT (DOTS & Lab Expansion), Procurement of drugs, and Lab reagents, Printing of Recording &Reporting tools, and Community TB intervention in prioritized states.

Currently, ARFH is supporting NTBLCP in the implementation of Community Active TB Case Finding (ACF) in 12 states and Community Management of Drug-Resistant TB (CPMDT) in 36 states in Nigeria.
